10/10/25 This day was the start to something I will never understand... my beautiful Monkey, when cleaning his kennel with Banshee and getting her ready to come in, was found with some brushed blood on the front of his legs. He was happy, gave me kisses, got pets and hugs and brushed and I cleaned his legs up, worried, and wondering what could have caused this? I checked his kennel, his den, all areas, but found nothing. He had eaten the night before and was in good spirits, so after checking him over, I had to guess as to what happened.
Initially, I thought maybe because I had separated him from Banshee, that maybe he had been digging to get at her? But I saw nothing... so, I opened up his kennel to allow him into Banshee's space, and brough her inside. I checked on him all day and nothing changed. He was happy, up, drinking water and being Monkey.
On 10/11/25... things were different. He was laying down, blood once again on his then cleaned front paws and legs and drooling blood. Immediately, we brought him inside and placed a vet space in the living room and cleaned him up and watched... seeing what and where the blood might be coming from?
Because of his size and my inability to get him into the van, I had the vet come out to us. Assessment... unknown. Not genetic, not injury, but something triggered inside him. Something was causing his own body to fight itself. When the vet arrived, he had a fever which I was already treating, but the vet gave him a large dose of a bleeding med to slow/stop or try to stop the bleeding, massive iv bags and fluids, and medication to help clot his blood.
For 3 days, we (my daughter Samantha) and I took shifts. Every 3 hours, IV fluids, medication ever 12 hours. Cleaning up puddles of pee when he couldn't make it outside and checking his temp. On Monday, he started eating chicken and as we all know... took his "best day" before things only got worse.
I will spare everyone the last night/morning on the 14th of October... but I had to make the horrible but right decision to put him down and tell him I would see him in heaven.
First my beautiful boy Korben... and now his beautiful son. Sometimes we don't know the why... but we will see them again.
8/14/24 Now that it's just him and his sister, time for training! Monkey will be coming inside Saturday and learning with lap therapy and building confidence by learning all the things a young, 82 lb 5 month old needs to learn! LOL
6/23/24 Still very soft and reserved. He is a very happy boy, but lacking confidence . This boy will be lighter like his mom, but massive like his dad. This boy is a giant.
5/12/24 Very nice male. Large but reserved. Not an outgoing pup. This boy is a watcher.
4/12/24 Darker male. Busy, not much to pay attention to what is right in front of him. It takes him a minute to process. Then he is telling you off! He was growling and barking at me and the chickens. Doesn't want new things...lol
4/4/24 Large male. Darker in color, solid bones, heavy. Food and sleep is of interest. Doesn't care to be with us at this point. Mom and food is most important.
3:14PM Black pigments, smallest head. keeper though? Large black sable, head first, black leggings, black tail, long skinny, white toenails, no w/tip. Fat tail base, black points, great pigmentation. W/R/R/toes sock. Black mocha.
