Notes
4/30/2626 Last year during the first heat of this girl and her sister, it was found that both of them had vaginal hyperplasia during their first heat cycle. It was not bad enough to get them spayed immediately, but I did watch the full heat cycle to ensure I knew what was going on. These were not the first two dogs to have vaginal hyperplasia, two other females from different litters with the same sire also had it. Those two females were both adopted out and spayed, both without knowing this would happen.
This female was kept with the idea of her possibly finding a home and being adopted out, but it was always in the back of my mind that if she stayed I would continue observing her and breeding was always a possibility IF safe for her.
Vaginal hyperplasia is genetic! This is the first time it has been in our lines, which means that it did come from an outcross, I am pretty sure I know where it came from, but I will not point out the breeder or the lines that I believe it came from. That is not my job nor my intention.
My job is to breed the healthiest dogs that I can while taking into consideration human errors and by watching what I am breeding. I can continue to breed the best by pushing out the worst.
This is necessary with every animal in life as animals do not have an understanding as to whether or not they have genetic issues. Only humans will do that.
This bitch was given the opportunity to breed with Odeus (if they chose!) And yes... they do choose. Her vaginal hyperplasia was not there this second heat (this doesn't mean it is gone or better!), and they did breed, though they didn't show me! But she is indeed pregnant.
All females will be kept in this litter for observation as will any females bred from this line for the next three generations until I determine that the probability of vaginal hyperplasia is gone down enough for me to consider allowing an adopted family to take on the possible added expense of an emergency hysterectomy, or any complications that could come from this issue.
Moving past this female, I will ONLY continue this line IF at least 1 of her female offspring does NOT have vaginal hyperplasia. If this continues for her daughters, I will remove this line from the breeding program completely.
2/15/26 this girl is still just a squirrely as ever LOL she is loving, and sweet, happy, nothing bothers her, she does have prey drive though, but once her obedience training is solid and she knows to leave things alone, she will do exceptionally well around all animals. You will have to keep a consistent eye on her on fast-moving things, again she does have prey drive. She will be getting spayed and will be looking for the right home. She is very confident and forward moving. But, with new things, she does need patience to help her learn the things that she has not seen before. She would be wonderful with a family, children included, but you must have the time to show her all the new things in her life. Her adjustment. Will probably be somewhere around 2 weeks to a month. She will need short walks in her new neighborhood, she will need to adjust to vehicles, she has been raised on a farm, and vehicles are minimal. I will be bringing her in again to do additional crate training as well as obedience on a minor level, more adjustment to cats in the house, and consistent additional work as the weather improves on walks! If you feel like you have the time for a more active dog who loves to play and wants to be your best friend, let me know!
10/4/25 Toot Toot had her first heat and like her sister Sandy, unfortunately, she has vaginal hyperplasia and for this reason, to ensure genetic surety of our dogs, she will be spayed and look for her new home.
Toot Toot is a silly, loving, amazing girl! So sweet. Always wants to please and when I say silly, she is silly! She loves water, is so happy with everything in life and sensitive to training. She always wants to please and LOVES hugs. She is every part of her father in her temperament.
This girl gets a long with every dog here that she has met. She will be spayed once she has found her new home and though she has vaginal hyperplasia when she goes into heat, the spay will fix this. She comes with the same guarantee we offer with all of our AA's, and because of her size, she will need to either be picked up, or traveled via ground transport.
Let me know if you're interested in this girl and ask any questions you might have about her!
2/16/25 if this pup isn't a replica of her grandmother tiki, I don't know who is! She is soft, attentive, something we don't usually see in females. She isn't as squirrely as most females are and she is a thinker! This girl is a dire wolf! I can't wait to see her grow and I do not intend to see her leave our kennel for quite some time!
1/29/25 Sweet girl. Still just the same. Very forward and she knows what she wants. She is a bit stubborn, she likes to do and see her own things, but loves lap therapy. Similar to her brother, I will start taking this girl out with me, car rides, walking through pet stores (in my arms of course) and just letting her think and watch things. She needs her mind going so that she learns to slow down and think before running head long into things that "look" fun!
1/15/25 Bossy, large but loveable and sweet. Will probably much like her mom in temperament, but on the more forward side. She is wearing a green collar with a bell on it at this time. A bit reserved in the beginning, but once Lois sat in the litter with them, she came up, booped her and then started expoloring. She enjoyed sniffing and learning. Solid pup.
